Attlas and Notion: How to Use Them Together

Learn how to effectively use Notion pages as your chats knowledge base.

Sharing overview

Attlas can be easily integrated with Notion through an embed (link embedding). This allows you to insert your chats directly into Notion pages, functioning as interactive support for those who access that content.

However, it is important to understand one fundamental thing:

👉 Attlas does not automatically read the information inside Notion.

It can only respond based on the content you insert directly into the Attlas platform, either by copying the text or adding valid links.

In other words, Attlas within Notion is intelligent support, but its knowledge base needs to be built manually (for now 👀) on the Attlas platform.

How it works in practice

Imagine that your company has all its documentation organized in Notion. You want your employees to be able to ask questions directly within Notion, using Attlas.

The flow will be as follows:

  1. You select which Notion content should be available in Attlas.
  2. You copy this content (or add specific links) directly to the Attlas platform.
  3. Then, you embed the Attlas chat link within Notion.
  4. Now, whenever someone has a question in Notion, they can ask Attlas, which will respond based on the previously added knowledge base.

Links and pages

When bringing content from Notion to Attlas, it is important to follow some best practices to ensure that everything is interpreted correctly:

Main page links VS specific page links

When you add a link to a main Notion page, Attlas can only access what is directly visible on that page. Subpages or internal links are not automatically included.

To ensure that all material is used, also insert the links to the specific pages you want to use. This ensures that Attlas has access to all relevant information and that the content is read in its entirety.

Collapsible lists (toggles)

In Notion, when content is inside a collapsible list (those with the little arrow that opens and closes), it is hidden from Attlas.

This little arrow here!

Hello! 😊 👋

For Attlas to use this information, change the arrow to normal text, or copy the text as you want it to be read.

Text structure and hierarchy

One of the advantages of Attlas is that it understands the hierarchy of information.

That is:

  • Headings (H1, H2, H3)
  • Subheadings
  • Lists
  • Text blocks

This means that when you add your Notion content to Attlas, the more organized the text is, the better the chat's understanding and responses will be.

💡Tip: separate your content into logical blocks (chapters, sections, topics) to facilitate both organization within Attlas and clarity of responses.

Best practices for using Attlas + Notion

  • Before incorporating Attlas into Notion, structure your knowledge base on the Attlas platform.
  • Select only the content that is really necessary to answer questions.
  • Copy entire texts instead of relying solely on links, ensuring that nothing is "hidden."
  • Keep your titles and subtitles clear; this helps Attlas provide more accurate answers.
🧠Use Notion only as the place to access the chat, and Attlas as the brain that contains the information.

In summary

Attlas within Notion works as an intelligent assistant that answers questions based on the content you have configured directly on the Attlas platform.

It does not automatically read what is in Notion. Therefore, you need to manually add content to Attlas — either by text or by link.

This way, you can transform your Notion into an even more powerful knowledge space, with Attlas as support for your team or customers.
