# Personality

> Define how your chat communicates through personality, tone of voice and conversation style.

The **<kbd>Actions</kbd>** panel, located in the upper-right corner of the platform (next to the Share button), gives you greater control over how your chat behaves. It's split into three tabs: **Personality**, [Goal](/docs/actions/goal) and [Human in the loop](/docs/actions/human-in-the-loop). This page covers the Personality tab, the settings that make conversations feel more natural, personalized and engaging.

## How does the Personality tab work?

In this tab, you'll find several options to define your chat's voice, style and behavior.

### Archetypes

Choose from a variety of archetypes that represent different personalities.

Each archetype has its own unique characteristics and directly influences how the chat communicates with users.

For example, some archetypes prioritize knowledge and guidance, while others focus on humor, creativity, empathy, or enthusiasm.

### Advanced customization

After selecting an archetype, you can fine-tune several settings to make your chat even more aligned with your brand, project, or personal style.

| Conversation style: choose how the chat should communicate. | Level of detail: define the depth of the responses. | Humor: select the level of humor used in responses. |

* **Emoji usage:** Choose whether the chat should use emojis during conversations.

* **Proactive chat:** Allows the chat to ask follow-up questions and offer additional assistance when appropriate.

## Give your chat a personality

Knowledge defines what your chat knows. Personality defines how it communicates.

By combining a well-structured knowledge base with a personality tailored to your audience, you can create experiences that feel more natural, consistent and memorable.

Experiment with different configurations and find the style that best represents your brand, project, or community.
